About CCR

The Choice City Rebels was founded in October 2009 by 11 derby-addicted veteran skaters united by a common goal: to compete in a league that is as enjoyable and emotionally rewarding as it is tough and physically grueling. And, above all, they wanted to be part of a league whose members sacrifice and look out for one another ... no matter what. With some cocktail-induced courage, these founding members unanimously voted to launch a small-but-mighty league dedicated to casting a wider spotlight on the competitive aspects of its unadulterated sport. But they also vowed to never lose sight of why they were founding the new league in the first place: because they wholeheartedly love derby and all that it encompasses!

Today the CCR league is 100% skater-owned and self-governed by its members. Armed with a do-it-yourself attitude and entrepreneurial spirit, Choice City Rebels devote their free time to not only perfecting the hip checks and whip assists inherent to roller-derby bouts but also to promoting its sport's 21st Century revival.

CCR members run their league in a grassroots, democratic fashion with league management comprising various skater-run committees: Coaching, Merchandise, Finance, Marketing and Sponsorship. The only payment these tenacious track-rats receive is the intrinsic high of sharing their sport with a growing Colorado fan base -- and some gnarly post-bout bumps and bruises.
